The Videos below are performance videos and we don't expect our students to dance like
this right away. This is fusion Tango Nuevo style which we hope our students will one
day progress to. Not everything in these videos are appropriate necessarily for social
style dancing.
Our training style is to get our students on the floor dancing socially as soon as
possible. We like to start off the an open embrace approach which allows the students
time to get used to some of the various patterns and structures of the Argentine Tango
without feeling nervous about stepping on their partners feet.
However at an early stage we try to encourage close embrace dancing with our students.
We feel that close embrace/Milonguero style is the core of dancing a true authentic
Argentine Tango... but we like to encourage a Nuevo style over time.
Our philosophy is that a great dancer will know how to blend styles and dance them all
comfortably, efficiently and with confidence.
Part of our training makes use of various exercises which indirectly improves the quality
of balance and posture and reinforces proper technique of movement and stepping.
Argentine Tango at a advanced level becomes incredibly taxing on the dancers balance
and only dancers with an accute sense of balance will be able to achieve pattern execution
of a fusion Tango nuevo style.
The frame in Argentine Tango should be soft and relaxed between the dancers. Any tension
will impede the communication between the leader and the follower in Tango.
